As we prepared for the game release of Overwatch 2, we spent much time asking what would the franchise jacket design for the new game look like. Although the game has slowly evolved since its original release in 2016, the spirit and messaging of the franchise remains unchanged. Hope, honor, courage, justice, compassion, determination and harmony still serve as pillars for the franchise.
When moving forward, one must always look back at history. That said, the vision and design elements for the jacket were inspired by one of the first theatrical teasers for the franchise “We Are Overwatch” .
The outer shell features an Overwatch 2 screenprint logo that wraps around to the back of the jacket. A premium multi-color and multi-level PVC patch of the Overwatch sigil is featured on the right-upper sleeve. The hidden zipper on this jacket makes for an elevated, sleek look. Hidden pockets can be found on both sides of this jacket. The inside liner features a custom print inspired by the cinematic. Subtle heat pressed Overwatch icons along trim materials round out the embellishment package.

This fully cut and sew button-up shirt was a fun take on the traditional Hawaiian shirt. The iconic Murloc of the World of Warcraft franchise was the centerpiece of this design. Inspired by Tiki art and the iconic Murloc, a custom pattern was created. Custom laser-etched wood buttons, sewn in labels and hang tags were created to nicely round out the package.

Inspired by the Lich King, this ugly holiday sweater honors the ruler of the Frozen Throne. Iconic design elements from Frostmourne and the Ice Crown Citadel were used to create this sweater design.
His iconic phrase “Let them come. Frostmourne hungers.” was also incorporated into the sewn in label as fun flavor and nostalgia for those that faced him in-game during the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.
In addition to the Lich King, faction specific sweater designs were also created to celebrate both the Horde and the Alliance.

This battlefront inspired cut and sew heavyweight jacket was created to support the World of Warcraft universe. Design, materials and overall atmosphere nod back to the history of the World of Warcraft franchise. This premium design was accented with tonal zipper pulls, buttons and hardware for a clean and sophisticated look. Subtle but thoughtful branding techniques were incorporated into the design for a wearable execution.

Created as a tribute to the iconic World of Warcraft raid boss, Ragnaros - The Firelord, this cut-and-sew outerwear piece captures his spirit. A vibrant interior liner pattern was designed to contrast the sleek black outer shell. The custom trim package includes a graphite rubber patch and Ragnaros’ iconic mace “Sulfuras” as the zipper pull.
For design flavor, his memorable phrase “By Fire, Be Purged!” was also incorporated into the sewn in label.

This mid-weight franchise jacket was inspired by one of the core heroes of the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion, Bolvar Fordragon. The design mindset for this outerwear piece was to tie into the theme of the Shadowlands, the darkest and harshest realms to date.
We wanted a jacket that would combine utility, durability and wearability. Utility pockets, including one hidden stash pocket, were incorporated into the design. A tasteful and meaningful trim package was designed which included custom World of Warcraft clip labels, a Bolvar-inspired sleeve patch, buttons and interior liner.

Inspired by the Warbringers: Jaina cinematic, this collection included a cut-and-sew hooded shrug, Lord Admiral’s Pendant and a premium 18” hand painted statue.
The hooded shrug was reimagined to capture the spirit of Jaina Proudmoore while also marrying current fashion trends. It’s custom body lines, premium material and trim package come together nicely for this geek-sheik outerwear piece.
Using reference art from the World of Warcraft Development team, we were able to re-create the iconic Lord Admiral’s Pendant into a wearable accessory.
Gold deco foil and spot UV were added to give a premium experience to the overall packaging design.

This t-shirt design was inspired by the new basketball-inspired Azmodan in-game character skin. Visual cues were pulled from the retro video game NBA Jam as well as the NBA and Nike brands. It incorporates artwork based off of Azmodan’s heroic ability “Globe of Annihilation.” A customized Nexus “NXS” logo was also created for a sleeve embellishment.
Various website, social media and launcher assets was also created to support the launch of the new character skin.

Inspired by the Zandalari and Kul’Tiran allied races from the World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth expansion, this series of scarves celebrate their iconic culture, architecture and visuals of their lands. Crafted in silk twill, these scarves allowed fans to embrace their inner geek while still looking fashionable. Designed to be worn loosely draped, wrapped or knotted at the neck.

Those who do not stand with the Forsaken stand against them. The World of Warcraft and Loungefly teams came together to create this custom Sylvanas Windrunner backpack to celebrate the Banshee Queen. We worked closely with the Loungefly team to capture her spirit and the iconic look from her battle armor.
